Image Optimizer User Guide

Installation


Installing Image Optimizer is straightforward and takes only a few seconds. Please read our Installation Guide for details.


First Launch


Initial Configuration


Configuring Image Optimizer is a step-by-step procedure and takes less than a minute. Configurations page comes with default (recommended) selections.


Please note that you will always be able to change these settings.

Step 1 - Image Optimization Settings

In the first step you will be asked if you want to turn image optimization (compression) on/off. You can click 'Learn More' to get more information on this setting.


Step 2 - File Name Optimization Settings

In the second step you will be asked if you want to turn file name optimization on/off. If you choose to turn file name optimization on, you will be asked to select the type of information to be included in file names. You can click 'Learn More' to get more information on this setting.


Step 3 - Alt Text Optimization Settings

In the third step you will be asked if you want to turn alt text optimization on/off. If you choose to turn alt text optimization on, you will be asked to select the type of information to be included in alt texts. You can click 'Learn More' to get more information on this setting.


Final Step - Automatic Optimization Setting


In the last step you will be asked to turn 'Automatic Optimization' on or off. If you turn this setting off, Image Optimizer won't be able to perform automatic conversion and you will have to manually select which product images to be optimized.


Clicking 'Done' in the last step will save your setttings and take you to the 'Dashboard'


Dashboard


Image Optimizer dashboard consists of a few panels that allows you to quickly and easily use the app.



Images


This panel displays the list of optimized/queued images. You can search images by product name, view optimization details and revert optimizations from this panel.



Plan Upgrade

Clicking the 'Upgrade' button will take you to plan upgrade page.



If you are upgrading from FREE plan to a paid plan, you will be asked to provide payment information. Image Optimizer partners with Paddle to securely process payments.



Manual Optimization


Manual optimization is the process of manually selecting a product and optimizing its images. You can trigger manual optimization by clicking the 'Manual Optimization' button on the dashboard.



Quick Settings


This panel allows to toggle main optimization settings on/off. You can also click 'Advanced Settings' link to go to the settings page.




Geting Help


You can search through help articles or submit a support ticket by clicking the 'Help' button on the right bottom corner of pages.
